Welcome to my blog. My name is Rino Di Stefano and I am a biographer, a columnist and a fiction writer. In my last book, The Viral Solution (published by BookSurge and on sale at the Amazon web site), I created a surreal scenario where dangerous right extremism could be unraveling of a free and democratic society. I was thinking to the American modern society and that’s why my book, wise and frenetic, proves to have uncanny insight into the wicked and brutal ways of the modern world.
But first of all let me say what my book is all about.
In the 1970s, Tom, a young librarian, accidentally uncovers details that the Temple Corporation, a religious company highly connected with right wing extremist organizations, is looking for homosexuals and drug addicts for a mysterious scientific experiment. This unwitting discovery has vile repercussions that put everyone Tom knows in harm’s way. As his girlfriend meets a fiery fate, he realizes the situation cannot get worse and goes on the offensive, which leads him to Frida, a beautiful prostitute. She helps Tom discover the company’s real plan, which only leads to their demise in an Orlando hotel room. Now it is up to Philip, Tom’s friend, a college professor, to piece together corporate misleads and lies. Undeterred when his own wife is killed, he becomes obsessed with revenge, impersonates a journalist, and will barely escape when his cover is blown. Years later, his one last act of courage will prompt the FBI to seek its own brand of retribution and justice on a group that has unleashed a deadly epidemic.
Of course, this is a novel. But in fact the first cases of Aids where found in the United States on June 1981 when five young homosexuals where inpatient with a mysterious and unknown virus. Nobody knows where that virus came from and that’s my question to you: do you believe that somebody inoculated that artificial virus to unaware gay and addict people just for political reasons, or you think that virus just show up from nowhere?
In my book I say that an extremist religious right organization is guilty for the Aids epidemic in the USA and in the world. But we are talking about a novel. What, in your opinion, is the real cause of that suddenly and fatal epidemic? I would like to know your opinion.
